Are You Gaining Your Self Esteem In The Healthiest Way?

I’ve come across a study done by the American Psychological Association. They have determined that getting your self esteem by things like what others think of you and what position you gain at your employment may cause health issues. The healthiest kind of self esteem that can be obtained is the kind that you get intrinsically. That is to say things that you do that offer you nothing but the warm fuzzies and simply knowing that you’ve done a good thing. I am linking the article and pray that you will work to make this change in your life. This way, you can get closer to living the life that Christ died for you to have.

Do You have Trouble Memorizing Scripture?

Have you ever said to yourself, “I want to memorize scripture, but I just can’t.”? Have you ever wondered how other people are able to know EXACTLY where to go to find a verse? Have you ever wanted to be able to do the same thing? Well, I’ve found an AWESOME tool to help us all do this! I’m so excited. I’m learning to type AND to be able to memorize The Word of God at the very same time!

If you’d like to do this too, then I’ve found a great site for you!

Try Scripture Typer! It’s a great tool! I have a traumatic brain injury which makes it hard for me to memorize things, but I can work on each chosen scripture as many times and for as long as I want. This helps me to make sure that I KNOW what I’m trying to learn AND I’m becoming a better typist in the process!

Please go to the link above and try it out. I’d LOVE to hear what you think of it. Best of all, it’s COMPLETELY FREE! Please leave your opinions regarding your experience in this page’s comments. I’d really love to hear them!

God bless and happy typing!!
All my love,

Nikki

Romans 4 AMP – Justification by Faith Evidenced in Old – Bible Gateway

What is it that makes us CONVINCED that we have to DO SOMETHING to earn our salvation?  If we COULD do enough to EARN our salvation, then there was no reason for Jesus to come and die. Now was there?

Well, I have linked the text of my meditation for this morning here and pray that you will pray about it and read it too.  We NEED to know that, while we are proved to be God’s by our obedience to and trust in Him, we CANNOT, under ANY circumstances, EARN our salvation. It’s like someone paying for your groceries to bless you and you keep trying to pay the cashier AGAIN while she keeps trying to explain that you don’t owe her.  It’s ALREADY been paid for.

I pray that you’ll read the scripture that I have created the link to below and pray to understand the truth of what God is telling us here. How much more joyful could we BE in our salvation once we realize that it’s paid for and all WE have to do is to accept and treasure it???

Jesus WANTS us to be joyful. He told us this in this verse.

John 10:10Amplified Bible (AMP)

10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

I like to tell people that I believe that God wants us to be ecstatic, dancing in the rain, happy with our lives. I TRULY believe that. I mean. He came and died to see that happen! Let’s accept His free gift and show Him how much we love Him and that we REALLY are His by obeying Him!  After all, obedience is better than sacrifice!!!

Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obedience to the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed [is better] than the fat of rams.

I pray that this Word from God touches your heart today and I’m going to leave you with a song that I think goes SO WELL with this lesson.

Let’s Talk About Love

by Nikki Hodson – Founder and Christian Life Coach at Nikki Jordan Life Coaching

Hello, Everyone!

I pray that you are all well. It seems that God has been talking to me a lot about LOVE. Now, some of us think that this is a dirty word. It really isn’t. The concept of love is an unfortunate victim of the society that we live in today. People today are so accustomed to just walking away from things because they are “too hard”. What happened to the time when people just persevered because that’s what was right?

The society that we live in today is what I like to call a “fast food society”.   We are so accustomed to being able to go to the drive through and leave with a complete meal in less than five minutes. It’s sad to see that this impulsiveness has transferred itself to our personal lives. We are in SUCH a hurry that we make others feel like second rate citizens because of our lack of patience with them. You’ve either seen or been the person who is yelling at the cashier because she is new and isn’t as speedy as her counterparts. Come on!!! Don’t try to say that you’ve never been there. I know I’ve been there!

The thing is that we never seem to think about what kind of LOVE that shows to the guy or girl behind the counter. We don’t know what that person is facing on that day. Maybe her dog died on the previous evening. Maybe his grandmother is clinging to life in the ICU. Maybe she has no place to lay her head at night and spent the night sleeping on a park bench or in an alley. Maybe her boyfriend beats her every day. We don’t know!

So, while we are on our righteous pedestals, our words sting and our glances pierce the heart of an already wounded human being. So, what’s the answer?  Well, we need to relearn, or simply learn for some of us, how to have compassion for others. We need to remember when we, ourselves, lost a loved one or had just started a job. We need to remain aware of the fact that we, ourselves, aren’t any more perfect than anyone else.

So, as you go about your day, try to put yourself in the shoes of the person that you are feeling impatient with. Isn’t that what Jesus did for us when He came to live AND die for each one of us?

I’d LOVE to hear how each of you have learned to be more patient in these situations. I’d also like to know if you feel that you need more support in this area. Remember that help IS available. If you need coaching in this area, I’d love to help. I KNOW that God has awesome things for your life!!!

God bless and let me hear from you! This will only be a community if I’m not left alone to talk!!!

Thanks, so much, and remember that I love each one of you!

Hugs,

Nikki
